The World Scholar's Cup is an event I first attended when I was in grade 6. Although my memories are rather vague, I do remember that it was a pleasant experience. It discusses issues in the world and explores specific knowledge that you may not otherwise be aware of.
In a nutshell, the competition is split into four categories: writing, debate, the scholar's challenge, and the scholar's bowl. The scholar's challenge and bowl assess your knowledge of specific subjects like the sciences, arts, social studies, history, literature, and a special area. We enter the competition in teams of three.
After not participating in the competition for five years, Akhrin(right), Lina(left), and I decided to enter the competition. We ended up accomplishing quite some feats after coming 7th overall out of over 100 teams that entered from around Bangkok.
Overall, it was a great endeavor as it gave my teammates and I a chance to explore different areas of knowledge and allowed us to improve our collaborative skills.
